THE 2027 PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL HILL CLIMB

It won Pikes Peak on gas.

Now it’s coming back to beat itself.

A 1973 Porsche 911 RSR, a former Pikes Peak class winner, has been converted to electric for the 2027 race. We are documenting all of it.

FOR FANS

Follow the build. Watch the climb.

This isn’t a renderings-and-press-releases project. It’s a real car, a real team, and a real four-year build heading toward race day on the actual mountain. We’re putting the story on YouTube, in articles, and in your inbox, from build to summit.

EV Converted porsche on Pikes Peak

THE STORY

In 1973, this Porsche 911 RSR won its class at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb: a 12.42-mile, 156-turn road that climbs from 9,390 feet to the summit at 14,115. The car ran gas and set a personal record. Then it was converted to full electric.

In 2027, the car is coming back. Same chassis, new powertrain. It’s been converted to electric and aiming to beat its own record on the same mountain that crowned it the first time. The math actually favors EV up there since internal-combustion engines lose roughly 30% of their power at the summit because there’s no air to burn. Electric motors don’t care.

The build, the engineering, the team, the test days, the setbacks, and the race itself, we’re documenting all of it. If a vintage class-winner being reborn as the fastest EV on the mountain sounds like a story worth following, you’re in the right place.
